Key stage 3 receive 2 hours a week

Through a wide spectrum of topics we are able to deliver a diverse experience in line with national curriculum requirements. Producing independent learners is at the heart of everything we do. Pupils are encouraged to be creative while learning how to assess and refine their own work. This is closely monitored by staff a regular feedback is given at every stage highlighting ways for further progression to ensure pupils meet and exceed their targets

Key stage 4 receive 2 hours a week

Pupils follow the OCR GCSE syllabus. There are options for pupils to enter endorsed and unendorsed art and design/photography to encompass the diversity of pupils entering into year 10 and 11. Due to the diversity and needs of individuals an Entry level certificate is also available to enable every pupil the opportunity to gain recognition of their commitment and effort in this subject area.

Extra Curricular

Mr. J Tomkinson and Miss. N Atkin are commited to raising standards and interest in this subject and believe that after school clubs are an integral part of achieving this by providing individual support to both KS3 and 4 pupils. A wide variety of after school clubs run over three nights for all members of the school community.

There is also an evening dedicated to the gifted and talented at KS3 and a GCSE digital photography course for KS4 pupils (separate from GCSE art and design lessons)

Pupils in KS4 are expected to attend at least one after school session to continue and complete coursework.
