What is Design & Technology?

The Design & Technology component is that area of the National Curriculum for Technology delivered through the use of and teaching of knowledge, understanding and skills in the use of resistant materials, food, textiles, graphics, electronics and through systems and control, structures and designing.

Art & Design must also be acknowledged as making a significant contribution to the teaching of D&T (although it has its own orders) through the teaching of skills in and understanding of effective communication through a range of 2D and 3D media.
