Welcome to the Geography DepartmentStaff Mr R Thomas - Head of the Humanities Department and Specialist Teacher of Geography Mrs V Rogers - Teacher of KS3 Geography and History The Geography Department believes that every child matters and this established Department strives to see all pupils succeed. In addition, there are many reasons why a subject specific Geography education is essential to all students. As well as map skills and an understanding of topics such as the weather and why earthquakes happen, all our students are aware of relevant issue-based topics such as global warming and the sustainability of our planet. In these days of environmental awareness and responsibility, Geography has never been more relevant. As well as being a vital subject in its own right Geography helps us make sense of many other subjects through our awareness of the world we live in. Geography helps to develop key enquiry skills along with literacy, numeracy and ICT skills which are essential in today's modern world. We aim to ensure that all students leave us more fully equipped to meet the demands of tomorrow's world.
